Charity Dragon Boat goes to The Dogs!!! 04/09/2008 Victory goes to ‘The Dogs’ in Dragon Boat Challenge, and helps raise £15,000 for local Blind! Last Sunday, a dozen intrepid crews took to the water of the River Trent to battle against each other in the annual Dragon Boat Charity Challenge in aid of Nottinghamshire Royal Society for the Blind. It was a fantastic day with the highlight watching 94 year old Mary Lowe step over the edge and descend the 100ft, 9 storey building completely unfazed! An estimated total of £4000 was raised and will go towards supporting many blind and partially sighted children and adults throughout Nottinghamshire. Many thanks also to all our volunteers and The Nottingham Climbing Centre staff who made the day run so smoothly!
