Accessible Audio on Free Loan

We are the local agents for the British Wireless for the Blind Fund (BWBF), which provides accessible audio equipment on loan. A range of options are available from basic radios to the latest MP3 and podcasting technology.

The current criteria for a recipient to receive a radio on a free loan basis are as follows:

- Registered blind or partially sighted

- UK resident

- Over the age of 8

- In receipt of a means tested benefit. This could include Income Support (for example, housing benefit or council tax benefit), Pension Credit, Income Related Employment and Support Allowance, Income-based Job Seekers Allowance, Working Tax and Child Tax credit

- Not in possession of audio equipment that recipients can easily operate

All existing recipients will be re-assessed when they request an upgrade or repair to their existing radio to ascertain if they continue to meet the eligibility criteria.
