We have recently developed a Counselling Service for visually impaired people. Our qualified and accredited counsellors give visually impaired people across Nottinghamshire the space to talk through their feelings and explore the emotions they are experiencing since losing their sight. Our counsellors are able to offer intensive and positive support to those who are struggling to come to terms with their sight loss on an emotional level.
The emotional issues encountered by those experiencing sight loss can be very difficult to cope with. Launched in 2008, the NRSB Counselling service aims to provide a private and confidential setting to explore individuals' issues. Sessions are free of charge and are available across Nottinghamshire.
As of 1st April 2010 there will be £20 charge for any missed appointments where 24hours notice has not been given.
We have professional and qualified counsellors providing support to people living across the County. All are members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical frameworks of practice along with those of NRSB.
The service offers a choice of male or female counsellors all of whom have worked with a range of clients with different backgrounds, cultures, needs and difficulties. All our counsellors have received visual awareness training.
If you would like to speak to us about this or any service please call 0115 9706806.
