Sunday the 20th September saw a double header for the Knights as they took on Thurgarton Cricket Club in a two match series. With the impressive mansion and church providing a picture perfect scene for cricket, the Knights set about a simulation spec-wearing Thurgarton batting line up restricting them to a competitive 65 off their 8 overs. The Knights got off to a flyer with new player Mark Betts making light work of the Thurgarton opening bowls, leaving the middle order to pick off the remaining runs with ease.
The second game of the day was a different story, the Knights were asked to bat first setting a great total of 81. Feeling confident of another victory the Knights took their foot off the pedal, allowing a Thurgarton batting line up obviously more familiar with the task of batting in sim specs to knock the runs off with overs to spare.
The day was rounded off with a superb cricket tea, leaving the only question of 'when do you want to play us next year?' in the air. The Knights have now finished their first season but we are still looking for new players to join us for pre season training in the new year.
