On Sunday 10th June at the Arboretum, Nottingham will be hosting its 21st Green Festival. The NRSB will be hosting a stall, with a selection of quality gardening books, seedlings and information on the charity. It's going to be a fun filled, action packed day out for all the family to enjoy. There will be comedy, live bands and 100's of stalls! We look forward to seeing you there.

Celebrate the year of the Water Dragon with NRSB:

On July 7th, together with Nottingham Anacondas and the British Dragon Boat Association, we will be hosting our legendary Dragon Boat race on the River Trent.

2012 is the year of the Water Dragon, representing good fortune and intense power its the perfect opportunity to race down the Trent in the spirit of the Dragon. This year promises to be the biggest and most exhilarating yet, with teams from across Nottinghamshire competing it’s going to be bonanza of boats, great people, great food and drink and wonderful weather!

Entering a team provides an ideal opportunity for you and your company to involve yourselves with the local community and also a chance to promote yourselves; previous race entrants have included Trent Barton, Experian and Specsavers. All we ask is for a team of 13 -19 people, including the drummer and that you fulfil our minimum sponsorship requirement of £1000 per team. It normally costs £99 to register but if you contact us before the end of May we are offering registration at the bargain price of £50!

Your order to us is an offer to purchase a service and / or product and when we receive the payment for the product we accept your offer.

Cancellation / Returns Policy

If at any time you wish to cancel a purchase or order with us, please contact us as soon as possible and we will endeavour to put things right.

Trips / Events and Social Activities

We will happily offer a full refund for trips and services booked on-line or in person, providing we receive at least 7 days notice before commencement of the trip / service. If, for whatever reason, you need to cancel your place within 7 days of the event commencing we will be unable to offer a refund. There may be some exceptions to this policy, please refer to the specific terms and conditions that you will be issued with at time of booking. If you have any queries regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact us info@nrsb.org.uk
Equipment, aids and support centre products

If an item you purchase from us is faulty, we will repair or replace the item or offer you a full refund. We give 12 months' guarantee on all our products that they are as described, are free from faults and fit for their purpose. This starts when we dispatch the items to you. Some items are guaranteed for longer and this is indicated in the full description of the product. This guarantee does not apply to:

  • batteries
  • light bulbs
  • faults due to fair wear and tear
  • deliberate damage
  • negligence
  • abnormal working conditions

Where the product instructions are not followed, or where the products have been altered or repaired without our permission, or where you have given us incorrect or misleading information on their use

Returns exceptions

  • We are unable to accept returns on imaging and recording products (eg MP3 products, mobile phones and voice recorders) where you have downloaded your own material and content, unless faulty
  • Due to hygiene and safety reasons we are unable to provide an exchange or refund for certain products, (such as eye drop dispensers and pill organisers) unless faulty. This is indicated in the full product description
  • For special 'made to order' products these cannot be returned unless faulty. This includes specially ordered items that are not part of our standard range
  • For special orders which have been personalised or custom made (including computer packages)

Statutory rights

None of our terms and conditions affect your statutory rights and if any part of these terms and conditions is not valid or cannot be enforced in whole or in part this will not affect any other part of these terms and conditions. These terms and conditions are governed by the law of England and Wales and both parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Delivery

We will make every effort to dispatch your order within 2 to 3 working days of receipt, subject to stock being available. If we have to order equipment in for we will let you know expected delivery date on receipt of your order. Contact the support centre on 0115 9706806 (option1) if you need your order delivered faster. If you do make a special delivery arrangement, you may need to pay a delivery charge. Most of our products can be sent by freepost under the 'Articles for the Blind' scheme. However, the Articles for the Blind scheme offers no guarantees of delivery or insurance for valuable items. We do, therefore, have to make delivery charges for some high value products which need to be sent by a special delivery method. Where a product incurs a delivery charge this is highlighted in the product details and will be added to your order at checkout.

Once again, this year we will be hosting our 200ft Abseil in Nottingham city centre, the location is still a secret! Dare you face your fears and give yourself the ultimate challenge for 2012? It really is an exhilarating and breathtaking experience, with panoramic views over Nottinghamshire and hopefully glorious sunshine!. The exalted feeling that not only have you faced your fears but have also helped many blind and visually impaired people across Nottinghamshire is unmatched. We will also be hosting an abseil in September as part of Sight Matters week, details to be announced in the summer.

Fancy a challenge of a lifetime?

Well here’s your chance. Notts Royal Society for the Blind are looking for adventurous volunteers to make a fundraising parachute jump in Nottinghamshire at Langar Airfield!

Jump for Free!

There are three different types of parachute jump for you to choose from. We ask you to raise a minimum amount of sponsorship money in order for you to jump for free (from £395 depending on the type of jump you choose) and in turn we will receive an average donation of £140. In addition to this, every extra pound that you raise over the minimum comes straight to the charity, so please try to raise as much as you possibly can!
A Slick, Professional Operation!

The Skydive Info Pack you will receive has been written by professional events organisers Skyline who receive a flat rate per jumper for organising the jumps for us. Skyline specialise in organising fundraising events for charities and NRSB have been using their services for many years. Skydives are normally held every weekend, so if the dates on the reservation form don’t suit you then you can call Skyline to arrange a later date.

Cycle from one Iconic City to Another!

This is an amazing opportunity to Cycle from London to Paris over four days and raise money for a fantastic local cause at the same time!

Is this Challenge for Me?

Yes! There will be lots of like minded people on the trip all looking for the challenge of a lifetime and to meet new friends. Some people come with friends or family but most people come on their own. People from all walks of life will be taking part, although it is vital that you train so that you get the most out of the cycle ride.

What's Involved?

The trip takes place over 4 full days of cycling (90-145km per day) with a free day to explore Paris at the end. Your registration fee and sponsorship covers your Channel Ferry, return travel to London via Eurostar, acommodation, meals, mechanics, guides and medical support.

Nottinghamshire Royal Society for the Blind is the region’s oldest charity. Established in 1843, the organisation has taken on many guises including a school, a workhouse and day-care centre. The evolving incarnations of the organisation have ensured that we have adapted to changes in society to provide the best possible service to the visually impaired people of Nottinghamshire. Today is no different.

Using both staff and volunteers we are able to support over two thousand visually impaired people living across Nottinghamshire.
