Information Computer Technology

The advance in computer technology has opened a world of resources to the vision impaired. It is now possible to use computers, get on the internet and send emails even if you can’t see the screen.

With use of voice technology such as screen readers, as well as screen magnifiers, and Braille embossers, computers are now accessible to people of all levels of visual impairment.

NRSB offers training to those unfamiliar with these technologies and as well as a general introduction to information technology and computers.

Classes are specially designed for the vision impaired, offering :-

• The opportunities to meet and study with other vision impaired people, so that there is less isolation.
• The training material are available in large print and on tape.
• Trained volunteers

We also aim to support students who want to progress to a main stream college.
